Paige Shriver
Owner/Founder
I’ve been the proud owner of Dog’s Day Inn since February of 2000. Since I was a young girl I knew that I wanted to work with animals. I got my first American Bulldog, Bailey, in 1996. I began traveling the country showing my Bulldogs in the conformation ring, earning championship points, and working titles on Bailey and many of her progeny. When I stumbled upon the “For Sale” listing for Dog’s Day Inn, it was a small, 17 kennel facility offering very limited services. I saw the potential, and began transforming that dream into reality. Dog’s Day Inn is now one of the most highly rated boarding and grooming facilities in Richmond. I live on 4.5 acres with my American Bulldog: Oz, SchH I, PSA PDC, NADF 1, my Argentine Dogo, Luz, and my American Bulldog puppy, Benzley. We are active members of Black Sheep K-9, Cobra Kai K-9, North American Dogsport Federation, Protection Sports of America, and the American Working Dog Federation. I also serve on the Board of Directors for Federation American Bulldog. “It’s all about the dogs!!!”
Kristen Shriver
General Manager
My name is Kristen and I’m a very familiar face around Dog’s Day Inn. I have two pit bulls named Angel and Frank. I also have a French Bulldog named Mimi. You will find her searching Dog’s Day Inn for spare kibbles. I’m Paige’s daughter so I’ve been working with the pups since I was old enough to spray a hose. I started caring for my own dogs as a chore when I was a child. Now, I care for my own and many more! Dog’s Day Inn is a family business so each dog that comes through our front door is a new family member. I love my job because there’s nothing better or easier than sharing my love with animals.
Dorie McCutcheon
Concierge
Hello! My name is Dorie. I started working with animals when I was 12 years old. I’ve worked in kennels and have 7 years+ experience working as a veterinary assistant in veterinary hospitals. I plan on going back to school to obtain my vet tech license in the next year and start working as a licensed veterinary technician specializing in emergency care. In my spare time I enjoy going to the river with my dog, reading, hiking, and listening to good music. I have a 10 year old Pit Bull named “Fiona” and a 8 year old Maine Coon name “Popcorn”.
